Transitional Living

Finding safe and sober housing can be a huge barrier for a woman releasing from incarceration. Many landlords won’t rent to people with a felony record, and most women release from prison with no job and no money for deposits. Helping a woman find a safe place to sleep at night is the first step to helping her get her life back on track.

Resonance has two OKARR certified transitional living houses located in downtown Tulsa near Resonance headquarters. Kirtley House and Elwood House are safe and sober houses that allow a woman a place to call home the day she releases from prison for up to six months while she finds employment and gets her life back on track. Residents pay subsidized rent after the first month and contribute to household chores in a communal setting. While living in Kirtley House, clients will benefit from Resonance case management, mentoring, classes and substance abuse treatment. Resonance also offers transitional housing in the loft adjacent to our social enterprise, Take 2: A Resonance Cafe.
